NEW Covid-19 Information & Store Launch

Hi everyone! Just when we thought that we were out of the woods, the Covid-19 Delta variant reared its ugly head. In light of this unpleasant turn of events, we have once again updated our safety and sanitation protocols to stay current with Washington State guidelines, evolving rules of Cosmetology and, wait for it… common sense. Yep, you read that right, we are radically employing science based common sense in our approach to keeping our guests and staff safe and happy!!

Everyone currently working in the salon is vaccinated against Covid-19, and YES we will be getting our boosters as soon as they become available. We are also sanitizing high touch surfaces and generally keeping everything clean and tidy. You can count on us to quarantine in the event we are exposed to Covid-19 until we get the all clear to be safely around humans. We know the masks are somewhat unpleasant, but we will all get through the fall/winter together, and hopefully avoid another shut down.

We are currently working on the online Gatsby store which offers creative projects such as hand made tie-died clothing, t-shirts, hand stitched scrunchies and more created for you by our team members as well as quality hair and skin products. www.gatsbyoly.com Check it out! Items will begin popping up in our Gatsby Store this week. We all wish to keep our services prices as affordable as possible for our wonderful Gatsby guests, and retail l sales are how we are able to keep our prices down and stay afloat during this latest round of covid. Your support is greatly appreciated.

We at Gatsby feel extremely grateful to be open for business. We’re happy to still be in the game and ask for your support to keep Gatsby healthy and serving the clients we love. To that end there are several things each of our friends and customers can do to help:

  1. Pre-book your next appointment. This not only helps secure your preferred day and time slot, it helps us better forecast our supply needs and cash flow. It also gives us a sense of job security.

  2. Refer your friends! We will roll out the red carpet for you and your friends. In fact, we have started a fab new loyalty program! You can sign up at the Gatsby store.

  3. Buy your retail from us. We’re a locally owned and operated family of small businesses (each stylist is independent) and we need the support of our clients to survive. Square is making it easy for each of us set up online purchases with our online booking system so you can purchase your products when you book and we’ll have them ready for you when you arrive for your appointment. 

    1. In our gatsbyoly.com store you’ll find custom designed T-shirts, scrunchies, hats, masks, all manner of hair and skin products, combs brushes and professional hot tools. If you can’t find it on gatsbyoly.com just ask us and we can likely get it for you, and for less. if we can’t get it for you cheaper we will tell you the lowest price options for you. Check it out! We are adding new items every day. We are also working on curbside pickup options and we ship items to you as well!

  4. Be on time to your appointment. Due to current Covid restrictions, we are unable to power book, or squeeze people in. This vastly lowers our revenue and makes appointment timing (and retail sales) absolutely crucial. None of us are keen to raise our prices so we need you to help by showing up on time to your appointment, and giving at least 24 hours notice to cancel. (Exception: if you’re sick, or someone in your family has Covid, or you have otherwise been exposed please stay home. (We promise we will do the same.)

Please read the regularly updated procedures fully, as our rules and protocols change with our areas rate of infection. Although some of the rules and protocols might seem a bit much to you, our close work with clients is designated in the “high risk of transmission” category by Washington state.  We believe we can do our job and make you look and feel beautiful and also stay safe, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we all navigate the Covid-19 way of doing things.

Following are the updated procedures for checking in and the mandated protocols we will be adhering to in the salon until the pandemic has passed.

  1. It is extremely important to arrive on time to your appointment so we can maintain safe client spacing standards. We will do our best to stay on time as well. If you’re more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you unfortunately may be asked to reschedule.

  2. Our doors may be locked for everyone’s safety. Just when we were able to leave our doors unlocked a little, we are back to mostly locking them as Delta ramps up. We well be looking for you. Just come to the side door on Washington St. and we will let you in.

  3. Please do not bring anyone with you to your appointment. Our waiting area is extremely limited.

    1. Exception: Friends/relatives who specifically come to receive services together as a planned experience.

  4. Wear a mask. The state mask mandate is back, and everyone in the salon is required to wear masks at all times. Please arrive at the salon wearing your mask. If you do not have a mask, a mask will be provided.

    1. It is important that you keep your mask on at all times during your service.

  5. If you have a cough or fever or have been exposed to Covid-19 let us know and reschedule your appointment. Questions to consider before you come.

    1. Have you had a cough, fever, soar throat, sudden loss of taste and smell or any other Covid-like symptoms in the last two weeks?

    2. Have you been exposed to Covid-19 or been around anyone exhibiting these symptoms in the last two weeks?

    3. Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?

    4. Have you attended any large gatherings of 10 or more people in the last two weeks?

    5. Have you traveled outside Washington State in the last two weeks?

So that is basically it! Seems like a lot of information, but as we move through this pandemic, our primary goal is to make sure we all remain healthy, whole and still working! We believe that we can operate with fun, humor AND safety while we all get through the next wave of this pandemic together. We know that with your support we can survive and thrive!
